Miss Phoebe Ma 馬靜文老師
Hello, I am Miss Phoebe Ma. This is my first year teaching in this school. I enjoy teaching and learning English. I would like to share my experience in learning English. I believe immersing yourself into the language is the key to success. Listening to English songs, watching English TV programs and talking to foreign people are all the examples of language immersion. During my college years, I participated in an exchange program and studied in the USA and Britain. Besides improving my English, I also made a lot of life-long friends whom I treasure a lot.
In
order to make yourself more confident in speaking English, I suggest you try to
join the speech festival or other speaking activities. I like speaking English and I was the vice captain of the
English Debating Team for my university. It
gave me a lot of chance to take part in English Debating with other students
from other universities which was really fun.
It
is my first teaching job and I really enjoy talking with students here.
One of the impressions I have about the students is they are all very
nice and frank. In my free time, I
like playing piano and hiking, maybe you can ask me to play piano with you next
time.
If you ask me to give you one tip to learn better English, I will say you should try to watch the news everyday from the Chinese channel first, then switch to the English channel and watch it again. It is what I did when I was your age. I hope this would help you in learning English.
