In June 2019 I was lucky to have the chance to go to Australia with my schoolmates. That was the first time I left my family and flew to another country and it turned out to be a really good experience. I enjoyed the study tour very much.

The first reason is that there were a lot of animals in Australia. Among the 14 days, we had 5 days that involved animal watching! Although some of them seemed a bit dangerous at first glance, they turned out to be cute and lovely, like crocodiles, lizards, and snakes… except the birds, which I was afraid of. The birds made the trip quite scary and that was unnecessary excitement for me.

I think there were a lot of unforgettable things, and Harley’s Crocodile Farm was the most special for me. I couldn’t believe that I could watch the crocodiles so up-close and I could almost touch them! Although it was called a crocodile farm, there were other cute animals also, such as koalas, kangaroos, lizards, butterflies… I love the Australian animals!

I have another special thing that I want to share - I lived in a lovely Australian host family! Australia was as beautiful as a wonderland. In the house of my host family, at night, we could see stars in the sky clearly and the stars looked like diamonds. Although my host family and I had different cultures, for example, they slept very early; they didn’t use chopsticks; they went to buy groceries only once per week, etc, I considered it a very good opportunity for cultural exchange. We might have communication difficulty at the beginning but I tried hard, and I was able to talk to them quite effectively by the end of the two weeks.

I am happy to have this chance to have been to Australia.
