Reflection

On July 12, 2017, I was lucky that I had a chance to get on board, flying to another beautiful continent, Australia.
In Brisbane, which is a famous city in Australia by the beach, we had experienced plenty of fascinating activities which broadened my horizons. In my opinion, the activity I enjoyed the most was stars glazing in the Mystery Mountain farm stay. Although it might sound boring, I was deeply attracted by those dazzling stars in the universe. I was overwhelmed by the large amount of stars, not to mention that I was even able to see the Milky Way! The founder of the farm Garth told us that the brightest stars in the sky at that moment were the Jupiter and the Big Dipper. “Learning form nature is the best way to study about the world. Trust your eyes, not your phone.” He always said that.
I stayed with my host family for about 10 days, they were really nice and helpful .We mutually agreed that we met the best people. They had many friends so that we had parties together all the time. I chatted with their friends coming from all over the city and I couldn’t remember I had ever had more fun. The person I can’t forget about is ‘Granny’ who was a kind lady. She thought walking would keep her healthy so she would walk for hours every day. Besides, she liked complimenting people. The last few words she said to me were, “You are a nice, smart girl, Nancy. And all you need is hard work.” After the trip, as a Hongkonger, I learnt that besides being able to go to bed really early, Australians are also good at praising people.
There are two things I have learnt from this trip – always stay in touch with nature and always compliment people. Last but not least, I think I will study overseas if I have the chance. But of course that will depend on my Academic results and the economic situation of my family. In conclusion, this trip has not only widened my horizons, but also taught me a lot. It has been such a rewarding experience.
